I love, love, love taking pictures. I never claimed to be any good at it, but I do find that good equipment helps. :)

My main camera is a Canon 20D. I got this pretty soon after it came out, and there is now the 30D, but I have restrained from upgrading the body. Going from a point and shoot to a DSLR was hard for me because I was a complete camera idiot. I knew nothing about shutter speeds or aperture, or any other scary camera word. After some trial and error, I started to get the hang of it, and now it makes much more sense.

My lenses include:

  • Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L - This is my everyday lens. It stays at 2.8 all the way through (ie. when you are zoomed in), so it works really well for indoor, low-light situations. I LOVE this lens.
  • Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L - This is the other end of the spectrum from the lens above - it’s great for things like outdoor sports (where you need some zoom), or wildlife or something like that. It has an electronic stabilizer for lower light shots. I don’t actually use this all that much, but it’s a really cool lens.
  • I have two other lenses -the kit lens plus a 1:1 macro lens. I forget what they officially are, or I would link to them. :)

I also have a big flash that I use a ton. It’s great for indoor shots because you can bounce the light off the ceiling to make the shots look very natural.

My favorite subjects are my kiddies, but I also take product shots for our forum reviews, and occasional other fun stuff.

Here are some of my most recent photos:

Like butter.

Poor Rosie. She's such a good sport.

Anika and Molly. What they are looking at must be good!
