I have joined the 21st century

I am so proud of myself. (Hey, it’s the little things!)

In the last two weeks, at the promtping of several people, I have joined LinkedIn, AND signed up for Skype.

First, Skype. (Let me preface by saying that we have had voip at home for several years, so it’s really the Skype thing that’s new.)

I don’t know yet how to use this program yet (though I think I might be the last person on earth to try it), but when I was out buying an extended battery for my laptop (7+ hours of battery life left and I have been on battery for an hour! WOHOO!), I saw the most adorable little mouse/phone at the Sony store and I had to get it (especially when the nice sales lady said I could return it within 30 days even if I used it).

IT’S SO CUTE! Plus it’s an itty bitty mouse AND a voip phone.

I just downloaded Skype, and I just installed the phouse (not a real word… yet! :)), but considering that I am sitting in Starbucks, I don’t think that attempting a test call would be the best thing right now. The guy across the table from me already thinks I am disruptive because my cell has gone off about 15 times since I got here and I don’t know how to talk quietly on the phone for some reason. ;)

So what this means is that I have no idea how to work it, but I will soon! So do you use my username to call me? Or what? (I swear I don’t know. lol)

And the second big thing is that I joined LinkedIn! I know, I know - I am seriously late on this too, but this is big for me. I am *trying* to do more networking to find someone who can manage content on NBF (It’s an equity position! Hint, hint!), but LinkedIn has totally sucked me in. I found a bunch of people I went to high school with, plus there are just tons of smart, active people on there.

Are you on LinkedIn? Wanna connect? :)

Big new tomorrow on MyRig.com and Craftalongs.com… will post tomorrow morning!

I like the sound of phouse. You should copyright it. It could be big.
I need to work on Skype a bit myself. I’ve used it, but just for video conversations with family overseas.
